Conditions For Boarding
* All bookings, either confirmed or pending, are subject to our Terms & Conditions below. Request of a booking constitutes acceptance of the terms each time you use our services.
* All dogs and cats must have a current vaccination certificate covering the 'core vaccinations' and the Canine Cough Vaccination for dogs and must be presented upon arrival prior to boarding. The certificate must be current for the whole period of boarding and must have been administered within the last 12 months of boarding and must of been given a minimum of 14 days before boarding and that includes the booster vaccinations as well please. No vaccination - no boarding can be offered.
* Canine (Kennel) Cough Vaccination - For your information - “The name kennel cough is misleading, it now been referred to Canine Cough – it’s not just a disease of dogs visiting boarding kennels. Playing at the park, sniffing other dogs while on walks, even sniffing a post an infected dog has recently coughed on, can all result in infection.
Canine cough is similar to the human flu. There are many strains of it and even though dogs are vaccinated against it they can still possible catch it. If a dog is vaccinated it reduces the effects of it on you dog. If your dog is showing any signs please do not bring them into our kennels. Also if your dog has been in contact with another dog that has been sneezing or coughing please do not bring them here as well.
Signs of kennel cough are coughing, sneezing, ocular discharge and in severe cases retching depression and a fever.
If you have question’s I would contact our own vets.
There is more information on Canine Cough on the "more" section of our website.
* Should your dog be due for de-worming and/or de-fleaing please have this done a minimum of one week prior to boarding.
* We would also ask that your cat is current with flea and worming treatments as we will ask for the dates this was done. If fleas are found on your cat we will be obliged to treat your cat at your expense to ensure the safety of all cats in the cattery.
* For long stay animals, please provide any necessary flea treatments and worm treatments, that you normally use so we can keep up to date with their treatments.
* For long term stays that do not have an 'end date' you must give us a minimum of 7 days notice that you will collecting your pet.
* Any medications can be administered, but please ensure all bottles etc are clearly marked with dosage rates and your dogs or cats name.
* If your dog has destructive tendencies toward beds, blankets, toys etc, we would request that you let us know beforehand.
* I will not longer board any dogs that are excessive barkers, howlers or screamers. This is so I can ensure our neighbours are no longer being annoyed with the this type of noise. These tendencies also can cause our other boarders to become stressed and that is not fair on them as well. Also if you feel your dog suffers from separation problems, a boarding kennel may not be the best place for them.
* I cannot offer board to any dogs that are aggressive in anyway. That is towards any other animals, towards humans, aggression towards items like food or toys. This is for the safeguard of all of dogs in my care and towards me.
* Please note I will not board any bitch that is coming into season or is in season as they can cause disruptions within such a small kennel. So it would be appreciated if you could let us know if your believe your dog may be in season or coming into season before booking her in.
* I will board entire male dogs, but will assess each entire dog on a case by case basis. This will depend on the number of dogs in the kennel and I will only have s two (depending on their temperament) entire male dogs here at any one time.
* Please make sure your dog is on a lead when they leave the car, as I have cats here and a deaf cat —and I think our cats just might ‘scare’ your dog!
* Please ensure your cat in an appropriate cat carriage cage when dropping them off.
* Please note that I will not board any cat that is not spayed or neutered.
* I reserve the right to refuse to board any pet and no reason will be given.
* Whilst every care and attention is given to all animals in our charge I do not accept responsibility for any loss, accident or illness that may occur during the stay outside of our control.
* You understand that I have social groups for the exercise and lounge areas for the cats and dogs and that you accept the benefits and risks associated with this. With regards to running dogs together, I will make the decision if your dog can play with the any other dogs that are here at the same time. I do not run small dogs with any other sized dogs. Please advise us if your dog or cat needs to be on its own.
* I reserve the right to refer your cat or dog for veterinary attention should this, in our opinion be necessary. The owner shall be responsible for all costs incurred.
* I reserve the right to make suitable arrangements for any pet left in our care 14 days after the due collection date if no contact is made by the owner or the owners agent. With a boarding arrangement with a 'no end' date, if no payment is received after 30 days and no contact is received from the owner it is deemed that you have abandoned your pet and we reserve the right to make arrangements for your pet/pets to be rehomed to a suitable home.
* I reserve the right to contact you or your nominated person to collect your pet if we feel their continued presents in the kennels or the cattery is not appropriate and they have not settled in or are in distress. This would only happen in extreme situations.
* Authority must be given to release your pet to another person.
* While in our care your pets may be photographed and I give permission that this may used on our website or on other promotional media
* Please note that while you cat or dog is in our care - I do not allow 'visits' once they are with us, that is it. I have allowed this in the past and once you have left we have a very upset pet that does not understand why they have not gone home with 'mum or dad'. I have found it very difficult to get them to settle back into the cattery or the kennel and therefore we do not allow this anymore.
* I photograph and video pets on a regular basis and these are posted on our Facebook page. If you do not wish this you need to tell us please.
* By leaving your pet in our care it is deemed you have accepted our terms and conditions of boarding.
Pick Up And Delivery Of Cats and Some Dogs
If you wish, you may drop your pet off and collect your pet from The Top Vets Clinic. There is a charge for this of $15.00 each way. This fee is payable to us, and I will then pass on the appropriate payment to the vet clinic.
Your pet needs to be at the vet clinic by 10.00 am on the day it is to be collected. And your pet will be delivered back to the vet clinic by 11.00 am.
If you wish to use this facility, you need to advise me upon booking in your pet. I need to ask you all of the ”check in” information that I would normally ask when you drop your pet off. You may also need to show the receptionist at the vet clinic confirmation of your current vaccination certificate.
With this option, payment for your pets stay needs to be paid for in advance.
Your cat also needs to be in its own cat carriage when it is delivered to the vet clinic and your dog on a lead.
With regards to pick up and delivery of dogs, please contact us regarding this to ensure that this option is appropriate for your dog and that the vets will have room available to hold him or her there before we arrive or you can collect. If your dog cannot be lead in a calm manner into the vet clinic and out again we cannot offer this service to you and you will need to bring him or her out to the kennel yourself. This also applies if your dog consistently barks or howls at the vets - we have to respect that this is a vet clinic and there are sick animals being taken care of there and Top Vets offered this service to us and to our clients and we do not want to put extra stress on them.
Please note there is no drop off or collection of pets on a Saturday morning to the vets.
